What is Trauma Sensitive Yoga?

Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga works in conjunction with conventional clinical therapies to support healing by gently assisting people who experienced trauma to reconnect with their bodies in a safe supportive environment. This unique yoga therapy is bringing body into the trauma treatment and provides everyone the opportunity to feel safer, stronger and more comfortable in their own body.

Research behind TCTSY

TCTSY is an evidence based treatment for complex trauma and complex Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, developed at the Trauma Center in Brookline, Massachusetts, since 2003 and part of the Justice Resource Institute since 2006. Listed in NREPP (SAMHSA's National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices) Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga  is a psychosocial intervention for adults affected by traumatic stress, which incorporates yoga principles and practices. TCTSY aims to support emotion regulation, stabilization, and skill building for adults with chronic, treatment-resistant posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD); complex PTSD; dissociative disorders; and other related emotional and behavioral problems.

Trauma Sensitive Yoga Private Sessions

Based on the methodology of Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TSTSY) I am facilitating TCTSY on individual basis, in private sessions. As TCTSY is an adjunctive intervention, participants are required to have established psycho-therapeutical relationship.

Trauma Sensitive Yoga for Women Series

The series is welcoming women who in the past experienced trauma, including chronic relational trauma or went through difficult period of life. The group will be closed with 3 or 4 participants. 

The series consists of:

  • introductory conversation (cca 20 min) where you will have the opportunity to learn more about Trauma Sensitive Yoga, about me as TCTSY facilitator, ask questions 

  • five weekly group meetings (75min) 

  • one individual session of TCTSY (60min) which each participant 

  • study materials

  • three TCTSY videos for your home practice

  • email support through the duration of the series


Price: 880NIS, possibility of price reduction up to 15% depending on the socio-economical status of the participant.

Upcoming series:

• Introductory conversation can be scheduled between 10/12 2018 and 10/2 2019

• Group meetings will be held on Mondays 11/2 - 11/3 2019,19:30 - 20:15 in Be'er Sheva

• Private session can be scheduled between 11/2 and 18/3 2019

  • you have needed a hospitalisation within the last 6 months, for trauma related experiences

  • you are not currently in a therapeutic relationship in which you are able to verbally process your experiences
